The first Thai restaurant in Rio.

Nam Thai is one of the few to have the Thai government seal of approval – the Thai Select. After three successful years in Itaipava, chef David Zisman went down the Rio de Janeiro mountain range and chose Leblon to house the awarded establishment. Nam Thai was designed by the architect Helio Pellegrino, and provides a full experience, with Asian refinement and Rio’s charm. The house makes some of their own ingredients, and import others to guarantee its authenticity. Traditional dishes like the Pad Thai, a ribbon pasta made of fried rice with shrimps, is among the best sellers. There’s also the Gaeng Moo Thai Po, pork fillet, red Thai curry, kaffir lime leaf, and coconut milk and the Pla Shell Yahng, Canadian scallops grilled with chili, lime, and oyster sauce.
