Located at an ecological reserve region, between Restinga de marambaia, mangroves and rainforest.
On the right side of the small edge, it starts the beautiful Marambaia sandbank, which has the restrict access because it’s a military area. The beach has quiet waters and has structure houses, bars and a urban hill existence. The access is made by the Roberto Burle Marx or Barra de Guaratiba road, over 45km of distance from Downtown.
Barra de Guaratiba is known nationally as the gastronomic center: have many rustic restaurants by the Roberto Burle Marx road where you are serviced by seafood, crustaceans and fish.
Through the trail on the Costão de Guaratiba, from Palin Siqueira Street, between Grumari and Guaratiba, it’s possible to access the totally desert and wild beach like Perigoso beach, do meio beach, Funda beach and do Inferno beach. To get to the Perigoso beach are over 50 minutes of walking until Inferno beach (the last), over 3 hours. To make this trails, is recommended to use sunblock, light clothes, water and a tracking a guide. It’s also recommend to do that in group because of the local isolation.
